Strength and Conditioning Specialist Carmen Bott
dic 12, 2008 por Carmen Bott

Hello there! My name is Carmen Bott. I am a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, with a master's degree in science. I am both a personal fitness trainer and a post-secondary level (Exercise Physiology and Active health) instructor. I have been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years and I have spent most of my career studying exercise physiology and how the body responds to physical training. In my facility, I work one on one with clients, just like you, helping them achieve their fitness goals by providing them with safe, effective workouts and advice along the way.
A few months back, I was recruited by EA SPORTS (Active) to assist their progressive development team with the final stages of production of exciting new fitness software made exclusive for the Wii. It contains a series of fun, easy to learn exercises and activities that will get you moving and your heart pumping! I have been working hard, behind the scenes, formulating workouts for you that are full of variety and easy to learn.
The developers at EA came up with an inventory of over 20 exercises and drills that include everything from lunging to boxing.
The best feature is as you go through these exercises and drills, your movements are tracked on the screen (thanks to a specifically designed leg band that is shipped with the game) to give you real time feedback on your workout. It is amazing what technology is available to us today! An on-screen trainer guides you through the exercises giving you clear instruction and keeping you motivated. And if you're looking for a little more structure, you can take on the "30 Day Challenge", where you will receive a new workout every day, 5 days per week. Over the 30 days, specific components of fitness are emphasized each day, so you can recover from more difficult sessions and make progress. Also, each week becomes more challenging with the addition of extra exercises, sets and reps. It's like having your very own personal trainer in the comfort of your living room!

I have also been on set for the past two weeks working with fitness talent to make sure our tutorial video (which appears in the game), will help you learn the drills and exercises. It is very important to me that the exercises the developers have selected and animated are done correctly. I want to you to get the most out of your workouts, so make sure you watch the tutorial before beginning new exercises. I will also be adding key coaching points and exercise tips to my blog, so check back here for updates.
I know how hard it is to find the time to exercise (there's just not enough time in the day!!), so what I love about this product is that it is totally customizable. Whether you want to follow along with a pre-set work-out, cut it short due to time constraints, or work out on your own or with family and friends this software will suit your schedule. I don't know too many personal trainers that won't charge you for a full hour, even when you could only squeeze in 15 minutes!

My purpose at EA SPORTS Active is simple: I'm passionate about educating people about fitness and I want to help you reach your goals and feel your very best. I will be popping in periodically to talk about fitness related topics and answer any questions you may have.
And . . . I can't wait for you to try this new product from EA SPORTS Active in 2009!
